If you are at all like me, you may have trouble keeping your paperwork organized. It seems like there are several piles of paperwork lying in various places in my kitchen. Every day I receive new items to add to the piles. The kids bring school papers home, forms to fill out, the mail comes and everything else. I get really sick of all of these piles in my kitchen, but I have figured out how to deal with it.
I have narrowed it down to one pile of stuff in my kitchen. One of my kitchen walls has shelves, and I am determined to keep this stuff limited to one pile on one of these shelves. I have figured out that I do not need to keep everything, so every other day, or every three days I go through the entire pile. This process takes only about 5 or 10 minutes, so it really is not time consuming.
While I sort the pile, I make sections. I have a garbage pile, a pile of school papers for the bulletin board, bills, important documents I need to keep handy and anything that does not belong in the stack. As soon as I am done, I go and put the items where they belong. I keep all of my bills in a folder in the pile, and I throw everything away that I really don’t need.
This process is very simple, but it works. You don’t need to keep every single paper. Keep that in mind. Keep your paperwork organized by creating a system like this one. It really works.
