Have you been noticing that parts of your house seem to have an ever growing pile of clutter? No worries, it happens to us all. It starts slow, a little bowl that is especially cute, a cd that provides a feeling of nostalgia and let us not forget, that little gorgeous shirt that became too small that will be worn again just as soon as 5 pounds are lost.
That is exactly how clutter sneaks up on us all. Not to worry, there is a solution, a simple 3 process plan. Follow these simple three processes and say goodbye to clutter forever.
Will you really use it?
If it’s cute, classy or original, yet chances are you’ll never use it then it’s time to say goodbye. You don’t have to throw it away, you can donate it at any donation center, such as Goodwill or another possibility depending on what it is, is to turn it into a gift. This works great for kitchen items, such as hand painted bowls. Fill them with homemade cookies and bars or variety of fruit, tie tinted wrapping paper around them with a fancy ribbon and just like that you have a great gift for any occasion.
Do you use it right now?
This works really well with those unworn clothes. Even if you plan on dropping those 5 extra pounds, you haven’t dropped them yet. Besides, when you do lose the weight that you needed to lose to fit back into your clothes, wouldn’t it be a great reward to buy new clothes. Not to mention, buying new clothes seems like a better motivator than getting back into something that you once wore.
Does it take an object to make a memory?
This is specifically geared towards removing those items that seem to be sentimental. I understand, this one can be hard. Keep in mind though that if your item is collecting dust for years at a time until you happen to usually accidentally pull it out, then chances are that it’s not as important as you may think it is. Your memories will remain whether you take an item out of your closet or not.
This can be hard especially at first, however as time goes on you’ll see it gets a lot easier. Before long you’ll have a clutter free house, maybe some new clothes and a lot of happy gift recipients.
