The Perfect Cleaning Caddy
To do a cleaning job right you need to have the appropriate tools and cleaning products. Granted my cleaning for vacated apartments and rentals needed to be super detailed, there is no reason why you shouldn't learn how to do the same; especially if you are a renter yourself. Cleaning in all the nooks and crannies now and keeping up with it will help you out when it's time to move on and get your deposit back. (For a full walk through on what you need to look for if you are moving out of your rental check out How to Get Your Cleaning Deposit Back on Rental Talk).
First you will need a cleaning caddy or bucket or whatever you have around the house that you like to use to keep all your supplies in one place. Keep in mind that whatever you do chose to use, it may end up having some damage done to it due to the cleaners that you will be keeping in it. Your storage compartments need to be large enough to keep all the different cleaning products that I'm going to list off below.
Most of the supplies that you will use will cover most of the rooms in your house as they are multi-purpose cleaners. Here is the complete list of all the cleaners that you will need in your caddy to make all your cleaning needs complete.
Caddy Supplies:
Scrubbing Bubbles (antibacterial)
Power Paste
Soft Scrub with Bleach
Fantastik
Easy Off
Clorox Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Toilet Bowl Brush
Windex
Orange Oil
Pumice Stone
5 in 1 or Flat Head Screwdriver
Pledge Disposable Duster
Some Old Rags
Scrubbing Bubbles will end up being your best friend. You can use it on so many different surfaces and the product works as it says it will. All you have to do is to use the product according to the directions. Apply the product to the surface that you are wanting to clean after shaking well and let it sit for a minute. When the bubbles start to dissolve, then you know it's time to start wiping away instead of scrubbing. It's great for the tub and shower walls as well as the sink, counters, refrigerator and much more.
Many products can be used for more than what they are labeled for like Fantastik. It doesn't work all that well as a counter top cleaner if you have a big mess, but it works great as a floor cleaner. Buy the big jug of it at your local store and add it to your mop bucket. It cleans the floor great and smells much better than regular floor cleaners. If you like to use swiffers and such, use the Fantastik spray bottle and give a couple sprays to the floor before you go over them.
Power Paste is also a great product to use that you can apply it's cleaning power to even the inside of your microwave as well as your stove and bath tub. The product is all natural, has no odor and gets the job done without having to put a whole lot of elbow grease into it. You do have to let the product sit for a bit longer than the chemical cleaners but it will get the job done if you prefer an all natural approach or need a cleaner that is less abrasive. Later I will be going over how to use all your cleaning products in your caddy and how to get the most out of them.
